Who we are
We transform communities and strengthen economies.
ZIMSCOT is the official go-to source and a reputable organisation that provides easy access to a range of Zimbabwean inspired products and services that bring the local and international communities together, connecting everyone with everything. From unique opportunities to strategic partnerships and tailored approach, to clear lines of communication with communities, industry leaders, government authorities and decision makers. We create links to help develop sustainable relationships with international partners, including ideas and technologies that will shape the future, the renewables that will power our nations and the talent that will make it happen.
We are passionate about transforming communities and strengthening the economy while promoting Scotland/Zimbabwe as a destination for investment, trade and tourism by creating links, opportunities, new networks, partnerships, and supporting those wanting to travel or to do business between Scotland, Zimbabwe and the rest of the world. We offer diaspora support services, community development and advocacy. We raise awareness and participate in sustainable projects that combat Climate Change and Environmental issues in both countries. Our sustainability projects include a Thousand Fruit Tree planting project in collaboration with rural schools and communities in Scotland and Zimbabwe as well as advocacy for community health and energy. We created a go-to hub for Zimbabweans and friends in Scotland, (Zimbabwe House Scotland); to deliver services and projects that will enhance their lives and wellbeing.
ZIMSCOT was established in 2021 and played an important role in hosting the Zimbabwean delegation to the United Nations Conference of the Parties during COP26 in Glasgow, in partnership with the embassy of Zimbabwe. The organisation established Zimbabwe House Scotland at its premises in Glasgow which was officiated by the Zimbabwe Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, authorised by the President of Zimbabwe, HE Cde E.D Mnangagwa during his visit to Scotland. The house has become a business, community and a diplomatic go-to hub for Zimbabwean diaspora and friends in Scotland including the Scottish business community.
ZIMSCOT has been creating meaningful relationships and strong business and cultural links between Zimbabwe and Scotland. It has organised and hosted business and community engagement events in collaboration with Strathclyde University, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Chamber of Commerce, African Scottish Business Network and the University of Glasgow. It has a growing membership which includes, corporate, community and individuals.
In 2024, ZIMSCOT launched a Climate Exchange Project in partnership with Glasgow Climate Action Hub and successfully delivered a pilot of 1 000 fruit tree planting programme between Zimbabwe and Scotland working with families and young people from the Zimbabwean and related communities and schools. The programme is focused on raising awareness of climate change, creating and sharing content, and taking part in activities that reduce greenhouse gases as well as activities that reduce their concentration in the atmosphere. Apple fruit trees were planted on Mother's Day at Bellahouston Park in collaboration with Zamunda African Food Garden.
Our Vision
We envisions a thriving membership and link between Zimbabwe and Scotland where business between the two countries is supported by efficient and easily accessible services. We also strives for a thriving Zimbabwean community here in Scotland focused around a go-to community hub offering practical benefits that enhance the socio-economic circumstances, welfare and wellbeing of our community.
Our Social Impact
We have created a go-to hub for Zimbabweans and friends in Scotland, (Zimbabwe House Scotland); to deliver services and projects that will enhance their lives and improve employability, and to support the community to undertake impactful projects including practical steps that significantly contribute to protecting the planet and combating climate change.
Inspired by COP26 in Glasgow which we fully participated in, our surplus profits will be invested back in the community through practical climate action and advocacy aimed at protecting the planet and promoting sustainable development. Our climate and environmental projects include a Tree planting project of a variety of 1000 fruit trees between Zimbabwe and Scotland in collaboration with Nyagari School in Zimbabwe and Zamunda African Food Garden in Glasgow.
